General information

The house

Originally, Maison Colette used to be an annexe to a –no longer existing- castle in Aubusson. The house is some 500 years old and we have tried to keep it as authentic as possible. It sleeps 7 to 8 people and consists of a living-room with a door opening onto the terrace and garden, a large kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, oven etc and a large dining-table. Furthermore, there are three bedrooms and a bathroom. Of course we have wireless internet. Please note, we kindly ask you not to smoke in the house!

The surroundings are very suitable for going on beautiful trips, amongst others to the ‘Parc du Livradois’ with many pretty, authentic villages. In the ‘Puy de Dôme’ you can view the famous ‘dormant volcanoes’. There is also an information centre.
In 2015, Auvergne was chosen by Lonely Planet to be one of the five most beautiful regions in the world.

If you like antiques, second-hand goods, ‘brocante’ or vintage Auvergne is your place to be, especially in summer. Also, every Sunday in Clermont-Ferrand until 12 noon, there is a large fleamarket. For further inquiries about the surroundings, museums and tourists attractions you can go to the local Tourist Office where you can get a lot of (free) information.
